Defining Healthy // Asparagus and Tomato Pasta

With so many options available at the grocery store, determining which products are healthy can be tricky. In an effort to help consumers, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is redefining the word “healthy” and how it is used on food labels. The Nutrition Facts Label was designed over 20 years ago to help consumers make informed choices about the foods they are eating. It has recently been updated to reflect the needs of today’s consumers. If you are familiar with the label, you may notice slight changes making it easier for consumers to make healthy choices. It is now easier to see how many calories and added sugars are in a product. The new label is also more realistic about servings sizes. Take a look below to learn what the different parts of the Nutrition Facts Label mean.
